Chi è quel buffo strano uccello? Da dove viene? Dice di chiamarsi Alfredo e ha una piccola sedia, che porta sempre con sé. Altro di lui non si sa. Di Sonia invece, si sa che vive sola in una casa in fondo al bosco e che non ama allontanarsi dal suo piccolo regno. Finché, un giorno… Sonia e Alfredo, racconta una storia semplice di amicizia e solidarietà. Parla di quel che succede quando si sperimentano l’esclusione e la solitudine; di quando si ha la calorosa sensazione di aver trovato una nuova casa o un amico; di cosa si prova quando si trova il coraggio di affrontare esperienze sconosciute per il bene di qualcun altro. Sonia e Alfredo, racconta tutto questo con poche ed essenziali parole e con figure dal tratto semplice ma potentemente evocativo. Figure che sullo schermo bianco del teatro d’ombre, grazie alla presenza di due attori/animatori, si caricano di vita e diventano personaggi capaci di farsi interpreti, con gesti elementari e toccante sobrietà, dei grandi temi della vita.

Qui est ce drôle d’oiseau? D’où vient-il? Il dit que son nom est Alfredo et il a une petite chaise, qu’il porte toujours avec lui. On ne sait rien d’autre de lui. De Sonia, par contre, on sait qu’elle vit seule dans une maison au bout des bois et n’aime pas quitter son petit royaume. Jusqu’à ce qu’un jour… Sonia et Alfred raconte une émouvante histoire d’amitié et de solidarité toute simple, qui parle d’exclusion et de solitude; qui parle de la chaleureuse sensation quand on trouve un nouvel asile ou un ami; de ce qu’on éprouve quand on a le courage d’aller au-devant d’expériences inconnues pour le bien de quelqu’un d’autre. Sonia et Alfred raconte tout cela en quelques mots essentiels et à l’aide de silhouettes aux traits simples mais puissamment évocateurs. Sur le blanc de l’écran du théâtre d’ombres et grâce à la présence de deux acteurs/animateurs, les silhouettes prennent vie et se transforment en personnages à même d’interpréter les grands thèmes de la vie par des gestes anodins mais d’une sobriété touchante.

Who is that funny, strange bird? Where does he come from? He claims his name is Alfredo and he owns a little chair which he always carries around with him. That’s all we know about him. As for Sonia, we know that she lives alone in a house at the end of the woods and she is reluctant to leave her little kingdom. Until, one day… Sonia and Alfredo is a simple story about friendship and solidarity. It’s about what happens when we experience exclusion and solitude; about that comforting feeling of finding a home and a friend; about how we feel when we find the courage to face unknown situations for someone else’s sake. The play is told through few, essential words and simply drawn puppets but to great effect. Shadow silhouettes that come to life on the white theatre screen thanks to the presence of two actors/animators becoming characters able to represent, through clean gestures and touching simplicity, the great themes of life.
